Doorush Together For Good Social

The “Doorush – Together For Good” social impact initiative was successfully conducted on 11th February 2026 (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM at the Panchayat Union Middle School, Trisulam. The initiative aimed at promoting community welfare and strengthening support for school children through meaningful engagement and service activities. Rtn. Santhosh Sivadhasan, President of the Rotary Club of Tharamani, actively participated in the initiative along with his dedicated Rotary team. Under his leadership, the Rotary Tharamani team played a significant role in supporting and coordinating the program at the Panchayat Union School. The initiative focused on creating a positive impact on the students by fostering encouragement, motivation, and community connection.

Kalyana Sundaram of RC Tharamani, brought pride to the club with his outstanding performance in the Rapid Chess Tournament – Season 1, organized by RC Guindy at Anna University Alumni Club, Chennai. The event drew many young talents, but Hari stood out with consistent play, sharp analysis, and calm composure. His strategic brilliance and maturity beyond his age earned admiration from fellow players and spectators alike. After a series of intense rounds, Hari secured 2nd place, a remarkable milestone in his chess journey. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2000, along with a trophy and certificate of merit. The Rotary community, especially RC Tharamani, celebrated this achievement with pride. For his family and mentors, it was a moment of immense joy, reflecting his dedication and signaling a bright future in chess.

Among the spirited teams was the enthusiastic RC Tharamani Annettes Shri Hari Keshav son of Rtn Kalyana Sundaram, who showcased skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the league-cum-knockout matches. President and Board Members Installation

On 13th July 2025, Rtn. Santhosh officially took charge as President from Rtn. Swami, and Rtn. Kalyana Sundaram became Secretary, succeeding Rtn. Sarath. The new board members also assumed their roles during the installation ceremony, held in the presence of Rtn. Devendiran, District Governor of RI District 3233. Rtn. Santhosh and Rtn. Kalyana Sundaram took a pledge to serve society along with Rotary Tharamani members and lead the Rotary activities for the year 2025-26 in line with Rotary International goals. District Governor Devendiran shared Rotary’s purpose, reviewed the past four years’ achievements, and inspired members with future goals. About 70 Rotarians and 20 guests attended the event. On 13th July 2025, Two hundred seed balls were given out to help protect the environment by growing more trees. The goal is to make the earth greener and safer for future generations. Seed balls are small balls made of soil and seeds that can grow into trees when thrown on open land. This is an easy and natural way to plant trees. There is a bigger plan to provide 100,000 seed balls in different places soon. This will help bring back greenery, support wildlife, and fight climate change in a simple and effective way.
